Celebrating A Friend's Birthday

Andy helped celebrate a friend's birthday by attending a "bunking" over birthday party. Happy Birthday Tyler!!!

Labor Day Weekend

We joined the Broz family for the Springfield Labor Day Parade. Here's some photos...everyone loves a parade!

Fifth Grade, Here He Comes!

Today was the first day of school. My little baby Andy is a fifth grader!! How sad that makes me.

Andy Meets His Teacher

Andy had his "Meet the Teacher" orientation tonight. He goes to a different building this year so we were sure to check out the entire school. When you enter the school there are train tracks near the ceiling that run through the hallway and library with a toy train on them. The train was really running and it was pretty neat. The library also had an old truck bed in it decorated with pillows for a reading area and a real garden fountain in a corner.

Andy's homeroom teacher was very impressive. He loves social studies & American history so he ranks pretty high in my book.

The unbelievable part is that there are a total of 15 fifth grade classes with each having about 24 students in them.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Andy and I spent the last day of my summer vacation going to see the movie, "Journey to the Center of the Earth." We both loved the movie and it was fun having a special day together.

Andy's 9th Baseball Game

Andy's "Warriors" team played their 9th game. It was so hot outside!!!!!! The team did great. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost 8-4. Andy did a great job playing outfield!!!

Andy's 8th Baseball Game

Andy missed his 8th baseball game so that he could help get ready to go to Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Braden's Last Tot Ball Game

Braden played his last Tot Ball game and he did wonderful!!!! Again, he hit the ball great, ran to all the bases, and didn't play in the dirt. He was especially excited that it was his snack night.

After the game, each team member was given a medal and a trophy. Braden is very proud to be displaying his trophy next to Andy's trophies.

Andy's 7th Baseball Game

Andy's "Warrior" team played tonight. Andy made a run. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost 10-3. Andy did a great job, though, and we are very proud of him.

Braden's 8th Tot Ball Game

Braden had his 8th Tot Ball game tonight. Braden did an awesome job!! He stayed focused, didn't play in the dirt, went after the ball when it was hit his way, threw it to the correct person, hit the ball off the tee and had the ball go a good distance, ran to all the bases and touched them with his feet and not his hands.(see earlier Tot Ball posts to fully understand) We are so proud of Bray Bray!

Outdoor Wedding

Andy and I attended the wedding of Amanda K. She is the daughter of my friend Linda. It was an outdoor wedding and very pretty. I loved hearing mother nature during the ceremony...the birds added their own lovely music to the ceremony. Congratulations Amanda and Chris!!!

Andy's 6th Baseball Game

This was a makeup game for the June 6th rain out. Guess what...it was rained out!!

Celebrating A Friend's Birthday

Andy helped celebrate the birthday of his friend Justice on Friday, June 27th. This included going to a movie, eating pizza, attending the town's fireworks display, watching a "dog show", and bunking over. Happy Birthday, Justice!!!

Andy's Summer School Water Day

Andy's summer school class had Water Day. The kids were able to bring water guns and balloons to play with all day. The teachers cooked hot dogs for the kids. This was also the last day of summer school!!!!

Andy's Summer School Park Day

Andy's summer school class had Park Day and went to one of the town's parks to play all day. I don't remember summer school being filled with all these field trips and fun days when I was young.

Andy's 5th Baseball Game

Andy's "Warrior" team played the "Cardinal" team on Tuesday, June 24th. The Warriors lost 11-2.

Braden's 7th Tot Ball Game

Braden had team pictures tonight. We can't wait to see his 1st baseball pictures!!!!

Just a Fishin'

We decided to give fishing a try for some "almost free" family entertainment. We decided that the first fishing adventure would be a practice run at Lake Springfield.

 We forgot to have that talk with Braden about where not to fish from.

Andy's 4th Summer School Field Trip

Andy's summer school class went to the town's Aquatic Center for the day. After hearing Andy talk about the trip, Braden now wants to go which can be very worrisome since Braden loves to just dive in!

Andy's 3rd Summer School Field Trip

Andy's summer school class went to a local fish hatchery and bowling. The kids got to bring their fishing poles to fish with at the hatchery. Now Andy wants the family to go fishing at one of the nearby lakes.

Braden's 6th Tot Ball Game

Braden did a great job at his game. We are so proud of him and his "Little Stripes" team. He actually did not play in the dirt once!!!!!

Andy's Birthday Party

Andy celebrated his 10th birthday by having a "bunking party". He invited 5 friends over to try out his new water slide, eat pizza, play, watch movies, roast marshmallows, and "bunk over". I don't know how the boys did it, but they stayed up until 5:30 a.m.!!!! Braden enjoyed hanging out with Andy's friends and staying up with them part of the night. Thank you Samuel, Justin, Tristin, Justice, and Timothy. Andy enjoyed having you come over and loved your gifts.
